Have a question?

Buying an e-bike can be confusing and can create a lot of questions. At Beameo we are keen to make the whole process as simple as possible for you.

Please check below to find out if your question has been answered. If not, please feel free to contact us so that we can help you in person.

  • Can we trust Beameo?
In short, yes you can. We are a very small team of UK based dedicated professionals who see customer service as paramount in all we do. The e-bikes we produce are designed to be reliable, efficient and fun to ride at a price you can afford. We back these up with excellent customer service and UK warranty provision so we are always here to help if you should need it.
  • Where does Beameo come from?
Beameo is a family run, UK based company (London and Wales). Currently the e-bikes are manufactured by our parent company in Thailand but all Beameo quality assurance processes are managed here in the UK. We are currently looking at options to manufacture in the UK and plan to invest in this area as the company grows. Our warranty and customer service staff are directly employed by Beameo and are also UK based.
  • Can we test ride a Beameo before buying?
Being an online brand this does present some limitations in test ride availability. However we are getting around this by committing to attending shows and events around the country with demo bikes for you to try. Please sign up for our newsletter for the latest event news as we confirm it. Also, if you have a local event that you think would work well for Beameo to attend, please let us know!
  • Do the bikes have a rider weight limit?
This is a commonly asked question as riders come in all shapes and sizes of course. All Beameo e-bikes have a weight limit of 120kg. As a guide but it must be remembered that the heavier you are and/or the way you ride and maintain the e-bike will directly affect how likely it is to break or wear quickly.
  • Can we buy Beameo e-bikes from a bike shop?
At present our e-bikes are only available from us directly via this website. By doing this we can keep costs down and provide a direct route for you to speak to us, the bike manufacturer, should you need to ask any questions or need some help with your purchase. We do welcome local bike shops contacting us though and discussing them becoming a Beameo service partner. We are keen to work with local bike shops as we recognise the huge value they offer their local cycling communities.
  • Will the Beameo fit me?
Bike fit is personal to every individual as we are all built slightly differently. Not all people the same height will have the same length arms and legs for example. As an e-bike brand we try our best to manufacture bikes that are as adjustable as possible to allow for fine tuning the fit before your first ride (full guidance on this process will accompany the bike). Each bike in the Beameo range clearly states the height ranges for which it is suitable on its page here on the site. Please choose accordingly and then fine tune as above when the bike arrives with you.
  • How much assembly is required?
This depends on which model you purchase but in most cases it is as simple as attaching the pedals and turning the handlebars to the correct alignment. Full instructions are given in the box but if you do require further help, please contact us or visit your local bike shop.
  • What countries do you ship to?
Initially we are only shipping to mainland UK. However this is under constant review and may change in the future. If you have any specific requests, please contact us and we can look into options for you.
  • How long will it take to receive my Beameo e-bike?
As with all online companies we are reliant on our courier partner and delivery times can alter at different times of the year as a result. However we aim to have the bike to you within 3-4 days of order. They are shipped from our UK warehouse and any delays will be communicated to you.
  • What do I do if my bike arrives damaged?
In the unlikely event that your Beameo e-bike arrives damaged, please notify us immediately with photo proof (including any damage to the box) via our contact us page or via hello@beameo.bike. We will then assess the damage and respond with the course of action we will take to rectify the problem for you. Please ensure you do not damage the box further as you may need it in order to have the damaged item collected by our courier.
  • How will my e-bike be delivered?
Your brand new Beameo e-bike will be delivered in a cardboard box by UK courier. Inside the box you will find instructions and all you need to get yourself out on to the roads and cycle paths. Some basic assembly may be required but this is minimal and full instructions are given. If you do need any assistance we recommend visiting your local bike shop. However is most cases this will not be necessary.
  • How does the warranty process work should anything go wrong with the bike?
Our UK based warranty team are here to help you should you have any problems with your bike. Warranty will only cover warrantable items and will not cover misuse or issues caused by poor maintenance and all this information can be found on our warranty page.
  • How do I make changes or cancel my order?
If you need to change or cancel your order, please email us hello@beameo.bike with your order details and what changes you would like to make within 24 hours of placing the order if possible. After this time, your initial order will have been dispatched and retrieving it may not always be possible for us. However we will always do our best to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your order.
  • Why is the speed limited?
UK law states that all e-bikes are speed limited and we fully endorse and support this law. Many other e-bike brands have been seen trying to get around these laws but the reality is that the speed legislation is there for your safety and for that of other road users. At 15mph you will be far quicker than many on your morning commute but still within the realms of safety for all road users and, importantly, for your own safety in the unfortunate event of an accident.
  • Do you stock spare parts for the e-bikes?
We have access to any spare part specific to your bike. If it is not listed on the website, please contact us and will respond with pricing and availability.
  • What insurance do you recommend?
It is a sad fact of modern life that insurance is needed for your e-bike to protect you against theft. It is a lesser known fact that, often, your home insurance does not cover items such as e-bikes (and definitely will not if the bike is stolen away from home). Therefore we strongly recommend a specialist bike insurance company such as Bikmo. Their prices are very competitive and they offer you a range of cover that is tailored fully to your needs as an e-bike owner.
  • Do you have to pedal an e-bike?
Yes we're afraid you do. But don’t worry, you don’t need to be super fit to ride one! E-bikes are designed to assist you with pedalling and take most of the strain out of the ride for you. They are not mopeds and the motors will not power you along without your input. Whilst much easier than a ‘normal’ bike to pedal, e-bikes will still help get you fitter and stronger over time but a rate that is far less demanding on your body.
  • Are e-bikes safe?
If ridden correctly and within the traffic laws of your country, yes they are perfectly safe. As with any form of personal transport the safety emphasis is placed on the person operating the vehicle or bike and we recommend brushing up on the cycle access and traffic laws in your local area if you have any doubts. The bikes themselves are delivered to you in a ‘ready to ride’ state. All you have to do is charge the battery and carry out some basic safety checks before riding. We recommend storing and charging your battery in a cool place when not on the bike and ensuring that the battery does not over heat when being charged. This is exceptionally rare and our batteries conform with all current safety standards.
  • Who do I contact with media or sponsorship enquiries?
As a young brand we are looking to expand our range and bring you more exciting e-bikes in the coming years. If you believe you can help us spread the Beameo word as we grow please feel free to get in touch telling us how you can help and why you would like to work with us. The best contact method is the contact form or email hello@beameo.bike
